  1. Have been looking at Image CDNs like Cloudinary and really struggled to find a comparison of the platforms available. I found a great article by firt comparing the biggest first-party and image CDNs: firt.dev/image-cdn/ Must read for simplifying images and improving perf!

      For a more opinionated view; - I've been using cloudinary for a side project and it's worked well, useful going for the big player for integration. - @cloudimage_io has a tiny JS library which does a good job if that's what you need, their team has been super helpful. 1/2

        - ImagekitIo has some powerful features and simple pricing structure I like, haven't tested extensively yet. All have free tiers so give them a try. In every case I have used one of these, image perf and LH metrics have improved significantly. Remember preconnect though! 2/3

          I'd love to get around to trying out some other providers like Sirv, or those integrated with other services like Netlify and Sanity when I get a chance. Perhaps a future blog post...!
